The view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the penninsula.
| I walked about a third of the ay across the Golden Gate Bridge. You can clearly see where the new painting has been done on this section of it.
| Traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge.
| A statue in the Japanese Tea Garden, which is located in Golden Gate Park. It is fairly small, but quite beautiful.

| A hint of fall at Muir Woods National Monument.
| Many of the Redwood trees can be considered to be their own micro-ecostystems, as this moss covered tree probably is.

These are the 'small' Redwoods located along the Pacific coast. Still, they are incredibly tall and dwarf everything around them.
| The limbs on the Redwoods start up quite a good distance above the floor of the forest. They block out so much of the light that other plants (including their own offspring) have a hard time surviving.
| A small tree that was just turning color.
| A rare view of sky at Muir Woods. I really want to go back and spend at least a day in this forest. It smelled wonderful and was incredibly peaceful.

The Pacific ocean. We stopped at an old military bunker to take some lovely snapshots on the tour of Muir Woods National Monument and Saucelito. There were a few homes on the cliffs to the left.
| Another view from the scenic overlook.
| This time I was on the Bay tour boat, and we passed under the bridge.
| At the farthest western point of the Bay tour.

I finally got to visit the Pacific ocean. You can see fog rolling over the hills in the distance. There were a bunch of surfers here, but my camera's battery died after this shot.
