This was one of the most powerful experiences I had when I was out in Utah. There were a number of petroglyphs next to a spring, under a large overhang of rock. These hand prints were only four feet off of the ground, and only inches away from me. Knowing that a person left the outline of their hands 800 years before was really moving. It was so tempting to put my hand up to the wall, but that would have damaged the art.
